I have tried to change my avatar and it keeps reverting back to the previous one for whatever reason. I've even removed the original, saved, uploaded image, saved.. and it still reverts.
Looks like it may be a bug.

Strange, your previous post was fine in the other thread. Don't see the other picture added until your profile either anymore.
I uploaded a picture, thought it was offensive, so tried to change it to a new one.. and it reverted back to the old one. I've tried it twice now.
Also, just tried to upload a picture of my dog Dude and kept getting a parsing server error.. is there a limit to the size of picture? I assume it's fine, taken from an iPhone and not enlarged or anything.
This forum really likes internet cache. Do a CTRL F5 on pages.
OH, if you're on your phone, then.... I dunno.
I did see your eh blinkin' avatar in your first post, but yes, now all I see is the placeholder as well.
Most phones by default will take a picture at around 2-3 megabytes in size. More in the cases of phones that are camera-marketing heavy. That's gonna be too large by default for most sites on the internet to accept as an upload.
@archsenex Yes, I can't upload a different picture for my avatar or the original one magically comes back.
It's weird.
Oh! That sounds like the folder permissions for the image folder might not be set to 755. It may not be able to overwrite the old file.
Not sure what is causing it, but it's still doing it. Here is a pic of what it looked like when I uploaded the new avatar pic and the other side is what it looks like when I hit save (I censored it with a red star).
Something is wonky with it.
Gotcha. There is a limitation where only the most recent image is saved on the server, so if you are trying to upload two, you may be having anomalous behavior. Let me see if I can rip those images and do it for you from my side.
Works now, looks like you fixed it.
I don't understand when you delete the image from user side, it somehow keeps it there though. Something is wonky. I doubt you want to be inundated with people requesting you change their avatar when that should be a rather simple user ability.
Agreed. We'll test it out and try to recreate. Same browser was used that I am using. Since others have not reported this and others have successfully set avatars, it's not a pure shortcoming thus far, and setting yours will afford us the time before it happens again for us to look into the issue before it happens again, hopefully.

I was using Chrome and I was able to set my initial avatar easily.. it was changing it from one to another that posed the issue.
