Starting today, I will be moving my communication effort to these forums as a continued goal to keep several channels open to our player base. The official forums will still be a launching point for all GemStone IV announcements as well as official communication, but as time goes on, we will utilize these forums more and more. Ok, just to be clear so I don't run afoul of any TOS here, I will now be X-posting relevant information from this forum onto the PC when I think it's warranted, as it's now the new Unofficial official forums.
Is this going to be a problem?

But the PC has ~15 years of history, and this forum doesn't have the user base yet. I don't have a problem cross-posting.

Honestly why? These forums look like crap compared to the officials.
Non-paying customers do not have access to the Officials. Same reason Wyrom posted on the PC, i'd imagine.
Someone pointed something out to me that I want to make sure is clear. The officials (forums.play.net) are still the main communication outlet for GemStone IV. I'm moving away from the Players' Corner. We tried it out, but I need a little more structure. These forums offer that.
There are a few places I'd like to support where myself and other GameMasters can communication with our players. Here. The GemStone IV Slack channel. And some Discord servers. It will be slow, but updating how we communicate will only benefit the game. Improving our staff culture is important.
Will GMs be posting here?
In time, that would be a goal.

I've never had a problem browsing the forums while not logged in.
Checking in to these new forums. Looks clean so far. Not sorry to see the PC go by the wayside.

Correct. I should have phrased my statement as non-paying customers do not have the ability to post on the officials outside of a select few areas.

Genius move either way. I would not have posted anything on that other horrible website, only reason I'm even communicating now is because of this new place. It's great and the features are so smooth! The creators need a well deserved pat on the back!
@cervantes I didn't have anything to do with creating this forum, but I'm glad its existence is bringing new posters out of the woodwork. Welcome aboard.
I also too have no hand in the creation, moderation, or in any way positive traction of these forums, but, I am nothing if not lazy and opportunistic, so I would like to take this time to take full credit for these forums and anything good that happens because of them. Complaints and negative feedback can be directed to Archsenex.

Simu does not support those actions. However, no policy exists against them. There is no recourse or help from simu should anything go wrong in any sale.

do you happen to have your screen zoomed/scaled? that CTRL+Scroll wheel nonsense to increase font size etc? Mine looks basically like peam's except in white.

It overlaps for me, too. I'm using Firefox and the dark theme.

As others said, these are not the official forums. They are an approved place where GameMasters can respond and clarify information. The play.net are still what we will use for all announcements and official communication with the player base. We are taking a modern approach to connecting with our community.

Personal preference - Discord offers voice chat and is geared towards gamers. Slack is a "workplace productivity tool" (lol) that I can get away with using at the office. Both are miles better than AIM. I recommend tinkering with each of them and seeing which one you like better. Or, just get sucked into both like some of us have.
