Yeah Doug, the downside to converting them to jewelry is that you will no longer be able to use a cleric to BLESS imbed into them. Only 420 imbed.
Can you bless imbed first and then convert it?
They prefer to be called Intellectually Disabled.

Yep, I hear ya. The upside, though, is that they won't crumble if you mistakenly use the last charge.

No. At least, for the original gem box once the gem has been imbedded, it no longer functions as a 'gem' in the box.
Now, I'm going to be a sad panda to find out the new T6 boxes do. . .
I haven't ever tried it with a Daxela box, but I'd be amazed if it did. I'm pretty sure it changes from a gem to a magic item under-the-hood.
